The New Administrative Capital is a new city of the fourth generation and the new future capital of the Arab Republic of Egypt located in Cairo Governorate, and managed by the Administrative Capital Company for Urban Development The city was established by the decision of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi No. 57 of 2016 and announced its establishment during the Conference on Supporting and Developing the Egyptian Economy held in Sharm El-Sheikh from 13 to 15 March 2015 and was contracted with the United Arab Emirates to establish it during the conference. The total area of the city is about 170,000 acres (688 km²), which is larger than the size of Singapore and four times larger than the city of Washington, the capital of the United States of America, about 60 km from Cairo in the direction of the east, and about 65 km from the city of Suez in the direction of the west, and it is planned to accommodate approximately 6.5 million people when its construction stages are fully completed.

The Administrative Capital was established to alleviate congestion in Cairo, and to be the new capital and the seat of governance of Egypt by the end of June 2022, where the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic, the Presidency of the Government, the House of Representatives, the Senate, ministries, and bodies will be transferred.
