A tourist resort on the North Coast of Egypt. The resort is part of the Porto Resorts chain of Amer Holding Group, which started in June 2006 with the opening of Porto Marina within the tourist city of Marina on the North Coast. Project: Sales on the project started in August 2006 and delivery of phase 1 units started in February 2008. The project occupies an area of one and a half million square meters south of the international coastal road linking the cities of Alexandria and Marsa Matrouh. The resort is mainly concerned with family tourism, which is reflected in the great interest of children in the resort and is aimed at the middle and upper class of society. This project is one of the initiative projects to exploit the south of the international road, which does not directly overlook the Mediterranean Sea. However, as soon as the idea was accepted by investors and the successful sale of many units in the project, many villages emerged that were built or are being built south of the coastal road. The project consists of 9280 housing units in three phases that have been announced so far: the golf phase, which is the first and largest phase, the Aqua Porto phase, which includes some water games, and the third is the Wadi Golf phase, which is adjacent to the university to be built
The project contains an entertainment commercial walkway consisting of 180 shops and restaurants. It also contains a dancing fountain in the middle of the walkway that represents the icon of the project. Many stores still have not opened. The project also includes a water games city, in which only a few water games have been completed. It was planned to establish a university called El Alamein University in the last phase of the project, and it was supposed to be opened in September 2011, but it has not been implemented yet for economic reasons and investment problems in light of the political instability that Egypt has witnessed since the January 25 Revolution, although it has been completed. A memorandum of cooperation was signed with the University of California in order to sponsor this university.
On May 3, 2011, Amer Holding Company announced its transfer of land with an area of 2.4 million square meters, which was allocated for the expansion of the Golf Porto Marina project in several stages. Amer Group justified the decision with the economic developments that occurred in Egypt after the January 25 Revolution.
