Shorouk City is a new Egyptian city, part of the third-generation cities, located in the Cairo Governorate, and administratively affiliated with the New Urban Communities Authority. It was established by the decree of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt No. 326 of 1995. The establishment of the city was part of urban expansion to achieve several developmental goals, the most important of which are accommodating the increasing population to reduce population pressure, redistributing residents within the Greater Cairo area, and at the same time improving the living standards of the area’s inhabitants by providing new job opportunities through industrial projects, which will be established in the city. The city is located in the eastern area of Cairo, bounded to the north by the Cairo-Ismailia Road, to the south by the Cairo-Suez Desert Road, to the east by Badr City and the Regional Ring Road, and to the west by the Ring Road, with a total area of 53,000 feddans.
