Shorouk City is a new, third-generation Egyptian city located in Cairo Governorate. It is administratively affiliated with the New Urban Communities Authority. It was established by Presidential Decree No. 326 of 1995. The city was established within the framework of urban expansion to achieve several development goals, most notably accommodating the growing population to alleviate population pressure and redistributing the population within the Greater Cairo area. At the same time, it aims to raise the standard of living for residents by providing new job opportunities through industrial projects that will be established in the city. The residential area of the city is 6,900 acres, divided into a group of neighborhoods, including all housing levels (economic, medium, above-average, and luxury). The New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) also provides residential plots for individuals, investment companies, and residential resorts, as well as pioneering projects such as the Mubarak Housing Project, the Mostaqbal Association Housing Project, and free housing and family housing projects.
